Cam chat app reviews
These cam chat app reviews cover the main video chat platforms for your phone, from one-on-one services to random roulette. Each review is rated the same way, and our top pick overall is Instacams. Use the table below to jump to any platform.
How we rate cam chat apps
We rate every platform the same way, so the scores are comparable. Our ratings are based on each platform's own public information, its terms and pricing pages, and public user feedback. We do not run staged tests, and we never claim to have used a service for 30 days when we have not.
Each review weighs the same things:
- Phone experience: how well it works on a small screen, in the browser or as an app.
- Ease of starting: how quickly you get into a real chat, and whether a download is needed.
- Cost and honesty: what is free, where the paywall is, and how clear the pricing is.
- Safety and moderation: the skip, block and report tools, age rules and how misuse is handled.
- Who it is for: the kind of user each platform actually suits.
Everything we cover is for adults, 18+. We never review or link anything aimed at minors. For the honesty rules in full, see our disclaimer and affiliate disclosure.

Frequently asked questions
How do you rate cam chat apps?
We rate from each platform's own public information, its terms and pricing pages, and public user feedback, weighing phone experience, ease of starting, cost and honesty, safety, and who it suits. We do not run staged 30-day tests.
What is the best-rated cam chat app?
Our top pick overall is Instacams, which works in the mobile browser, matches one-on-one and translates the chat. The best choice for you depends on whether you want one-on-one or random chat.
Are these cam chat apps free?
Most are free to start, with paid extras such as unlimited matching, filters or messaging. Some are paid for the chat itself. Each review states what is free, and our free cam chat guide sums it up.
Are the reviews independent?
Yes. We use affiliate links, including to our top pick, and that never changes a rating. See our affiliate disclosure for how this works.
